Wrighton
Heather started playing the harp aged 6 and was initially taught by Helen Arnold a professional harpist and tutor from West Sussex. As a junior student at Trinity College of Music, London, Heather studied Harp under Gabriella Dall'Olio, and Frances Kelly, and is now an undergraduate at the Royal Academy of Music, London (having gained a scholarship) studying with Karen Vaughn. In 2007 Heather was awarded a scholarship by the Clarsach Society to have lessons in Edinburgh.
The harp is a versatile instrument and Heather enjoys pushing the boundary's. In addition to classical music she also performs jazz, popular, modern, traditional and world music and plays classical, Celtic, Paraguayan and ancient harps. Heather has attended specialist courses and has been taught by famous harpists from around the world. These including Park Stickney, a well known American jazz harpist, who is continuing to teach Heather at the Royal Academy where she is also having master classes with Catrin Finch and other well known harpists.
In 2007 Heather played her own composition at the European Harp Festival held at the Millennium Concert Hall, Cardiff. In 2008 Heather was proud to be asked to play in a choir of 60 harps at the Royal Opera House, London for His Royal Highness Prince Charles 60th birthday.
Heather also finds time to play professionally at weddings, concerts, hotels, private and business functions, and teaches private students.
